2016.10.09. 2 king 5:1-14 “Selected”
Naaman’s
leprosy was healed and his life was totally changed since then. The most
importantly he met God and his life was saved by Him. And we see some good
people who had an important role in this salvation story.
First important person is a young girl from
Israel who had taken captive when Aram had gone. This girl introduced a prophet
of Israel, Elisha, to Naaman’s wife and opened up an opportunity for Naaman’s
sickness.
It is easy for us to share our good
things with people who we love, but not with our enemy.
But we see this young girl wanted to share
good news to Naaman who was her enemy. Naaman and his group waged war against
her country and might kill her families. Then what made the young girl to share
good things with her enemy? It is God that she knew about and she wanted to
share the gospel to everyone including her enemies. She knew who God is and
what the gospel is; it should be opened to every people and not being selfish.
Second figure, in verse 13, are Naaman’s
servants. When Naaman got angry at Elisha and wanted to go back to Aram, they
changed Naaman to go to the Jordan and wash himself seven times. Finally Naaman’s
flesh was restored and cleaned. Even though they are servants but they knew God’s
great grace will be followed if we obeyed God’s order and words.
As we see that we don’t need to ask God
to make us be Naaman or the prophet Elisha. But we need to be like a young girl
who spread good news to the world where we live. And also should be like those
servants who encouraged people to listen and obey God’s word. The young girl and the servants were selected
from God for using salvation.
God is still making salvation story in
our life. We are selected for His salvation story as He selected the young girl
and the servants. I hope we all share and spread out the Gospel to everybody we
meet so that the people have an opportunity to know Jesus Christ for their
salvation.
나아만 장군의 나병이 고침을 받았습니다. 이 놀라운 일을 통해서
나아만은 참 하나님을 만나고 섬기게 되었습니다. 이 구원의 이야기에는 중요한 순간에 결정적 역할을 한
인물들이 있습니다.
첫 번째 인물은 2절에 나오는 이스라엘 출신의 어린 소녀입니다. 이 소녀는 나병에 걸린 나아만을 위해 사마리아에 있는 선지자를 소개하며 나아만이 살 수 있는 길을 알려주었습니다. 우리는 내가 사랑하는 사람에게 좋은 것을 나누지만 싫어하는 사람에게는 나누지 않습니다. 그러나 이 소녀는 자신을 이스라엘에서 잡아와 종으로 삼아 부리고 있는 원수와 같은 나아만에게 좋은 소식, 복음을 전했습니다. 어떻게 이렇게 할 수 있었을까요? 이 소녀는 복음의 본질이 이기적인 것이 아니라 모든 사람에게 열려있다는 것을 알고 있었기 때문입니다.
두
번째 인물은 13절에 나오는 나아만의 종들입니다. 이 종들은
나아만이 화가나 돌아가려고 할 때 나아만의 마음을 바꾼 사람들입니다. 이들의 만류로 나아만은 하나님의
사람 선지자 엘리사의 말대로 요단 강에 가서 일곱 번 씻고 나병을 고침 받았습니다. 이들은 비록 종들이었지만
하나님의 말씀에 순종할 때 나타나는 놀라운 은혜를 알고 있었습니다.
우리는 구태여 나아만이 될 필요는 없습니다. 또는 엘리사처럼
능력을 달라고 하나님께 간구 할 필요도 없습니다. 그러나 우리는 어린 소녀처럼 언제 어디에서 누구에게나
복음을 전해야 할 의무가 있습니다. 그리고 나아만의 종들처럼 다른 이들에게 하나님의 말씀에 순종하도록
독려해야합니다. 어린 소녀와 나아만의 종들은 이 구원의 이야기를 위해 하나님께 선택된 사람들이 이었습니다.
하나님께서는 지금도 우리의 삶의 자리에서 구원의 이야기를 만들어 가십니다. 그리고 우리는 그 가운데서 선택된 자로서 복음을 전하고 하나님의 말씀에 순종함으로 구원의 이야기를 만들어 갈
수 있어야 합니다.
